OBJECTIVES
OBJECTIVES
The Guidance and Counseling Center is a support system responsible for the vital function of enhancing the effort of the academic community. It is expected to provide opportunities for the attainment of a Christ – Centered community, academic excellence and responsible career decisions. Specifically, it aims to:
1. Provide opportunities for the attainment of personal/social integration and Christian value formation.
2. Ensure counseling efficacy through continuing education and research.
For SY 2007-2008, the Department aims to:
- Recruit at least one aspirant to the Lay Dominican Chapter of the Colegio;
- Intensify counseling service to improve the academic performance of students;
- Maximize the utilization of psychological tests for assessment and enhancement of students;
- Provide extensive educational, career/occupational, personal/social information to students;
- Support the preliminary visit for the accreditation of the Graduate School;
- Support the initiative for the recognition of IT, CA as centers of development;
- Ensure the effectiveness of the Guidance and Counseling programs through research and continuous updating on counseling issues and techniques;
- Additional 2 volunteers in the Community Service;
- To support OSACA in the conduct of research for the establishment of the Colegio as the center of cultural and historical studies in Intramuros;
- To support the academic department in strengthening Letran’s competitive advantages in:
a. The home study program (Basic Education)
b. The accreditation program of the Graduate School of Business
c. Being the oldest college in the country
- Strengthening professional affiliation and linkages for the development of staff and improvement of the guidance counseling services;
- To adopt ISO standards for our policies, objectives and procedures;
- Implementation of the 5S principles
- The Guidance Head and staff to attain:
a. Level 3 ICT skills
b. Level 3 proficiency rating in communication
c. 100% participation in CCD activities
d. Earning at least a VS rating in the EMS for the Department
e. Having 20% completion of doctoral program for the Guidance Head
f. Attaining 50% completion of Master’s Degree Program for the Guidance Counselors
- Attain a VS in PMAS Rating to 75% of the Guidance Personnel
- To improve the financial condition of the Colegio by increasing the revenue and decreasing expenses on supplies by 5%.
